Expedia says two executives fired for ‘violating company policy’

Expedia says that Rathi Murthy and Srinivas Rachamadugu, respectively its CTO and Senior Vice President of Product and Core Companies Growth, are not with the journey reserving firm.

In a press release shared by Bloomberg and elsewhere, Expedia mentioned Murthy and Rachamadugu “not work for Expedia Group” resulting from an unspecified “violation of firm coverage.”

The departure of Murthy and Rachamadugu appears sudden. Murthy spoke to TechCrunch in regards to the new AI-powered options introduced earlier this week, and reportedly gave a presentation on the options at Expedia’s enterprise associate convention.

They each got here to Expedia in 2021 from TechCrunch’s then-parent Verizon Media (now Yahoo).

This isn’t the one current change within the administration of the corporate. Arianna Gorin, who was introduced as Expedia Group’s new CEO in February, formally took over this week.
