Model Jenn An Sues Kanye West Over Alleged Assault During Music Video Shoot

Jenn An best known for her appearance on America’s Next Top Model Season 13 has filed a lawsuit against Kanye West. She claims the rapper assaulted her during the filming of a music video in 2010. The lawsuit was filed in a New York federal court on November 22.

An says she worked as a background actress for the music video at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. She alleges West pointed at her and said, “Give me the Asian girl.” She was wearing revealing lingerie at the time. When she expressed discomfort, West allegedly replied, “That’s why I chose you.”

The lawsuit claims West dismissed the other background actors and focused on An. He reportedly asked a camera crew to film her up close. Then, he allegedly began choking her with one hand and later used both hands.

The suit also says he forced his fingers down her throat in a manner described as “pornographic gagging.” During the act, he allegedly shouted, “This is art. This is f—— art. I am like Picasso.”

An says she struggled to breathe and blacked out briefly. When it ended, her face was reportedly covered in saliva and makeup.

Universal Music Group (UMG) is also named in the lawsuit. An accuses them of failing to investigate the incident. She claims they prioritized profits over safety.

An is seeking a jury trial. She wants damages for emotional, physical, and reputational harm. Her lawyers argue that UMG continues to protect artists with histories of abuse.

This lawsuit is one of many against West. Other complaints accuse him of workplace discrimination, harassment, and antisemitic comments.

Jenn An, a finalist on America’s Next Top Model, has also acted in shows like Criminal Minds and The Mindy Project. Her case highlights ongoing issues of abuse in the entertainment industry.
